The Line
Contemplation through the crack of the door. The perseverance of a woman is furthering.
Interpretation
Through the crack of a door one has a limited view. One sees from within to without. The manner of contemplation is subjectively limited. One relates everything to oneself. One cannot put oneself in the place of another and their motives. This is in place for a good housewife. She need understand nothing of world affairs. For a man who has to act in public life, such a limited egoistic manner of contemplation is, of course, evil.
