Wu Wang · Er Jiu

二九 · Er Jiu

The Line

If in ploughing one does not think of the harvest, and in clearing the land one does not think of using the field, then it is favorable to undertake something.

Interpretation

One should do every work for its own sake, as time and place demand it, and not squint at the outcome; then it succeeds, and what one undertakes has success.
