The Line
She should not follow her whim. She should see to providing food within. Perseverance brings good fortune.
Interpretation
The woman should always orient herself by the will of the master of the house, whether it be the father, the husband, or the adult son. Her place is in the middle of the house. Here she has great and important duties, which she does not need to seek out. She must see to the nourishment of the family members and the sacrificial foods. Thereby she becomes the center for the social and religious life of the family. Perseverance in this place brings good fortune to the whole house. Transferred to general conditions, the counsel is given not to seek anything by force, but to calmly limit oneself to the duties present.
