Hexagram 49 · Line 1

Revolution初六

Ge · Chu Liu

初六 · Chu Liu

The Line

One is wrapped in the skin of a yellow cow.

Interpretation

Changes are to be undertaken only when it is not possible otherwise. Therefore utmost restraint is first necessary. One must become firm inwardly, moderate oneself (yellow is the color of the middle, the cow is the symbol of pliancy), and first not undertake anything, for every premature striking has evil consequences.
