Hexagram 6 · Line 1

Conflict初九

Song · Chu Jiu

初九 · Chu Jiu

The Line

If one does not perpetuate the matter, there is a little gossip. In the end good fortune comes.

Interpretation

So long as the conflict is still at its very beginning, one does best to let it drop. Especially against a stronger opponent, it is not advisable to let it come to a contest. Perhaps a small exchange of words may occur, but in the end all goes well.
